SHORT (25 WORDS)
A football management game set in the 1980s. You take the worst club in the Football League
and try to reach the top of it.
LONG
THE GAFFER puts you in charge of a club at the very bottom of the Football League and asks you
to climb four divisions to the top. It is deliberately simple to pick up — you understand
it in thirty seconds — but the club underneath is a living place. Fourteen named
characters keep a permanent record of what you have done and said, and they talk to each other.
Six referees have their own tempers and remember the managers who shout at them. The money runs
as one continuous economy across a whole career, so prices you meet in your eighth season are
not the prices you met in your first. The players talk in the dressing room before you speak,
and at full time they talk without you in the room at all.
